A  VILLAGE  IN  QUEST  OF  HOPE

Completely lost in the middle of Minas Gerais, where the climate is hostile, Léliveldia is suffering. Its inhabitants have no water, no food, no work. They survive from day to day. This is also the children’s fate, except for some of them who are so fed up that they go anywhere else and they are faced up to marginalization.

One day, some men and women met together, in order to take action at once; they left behind them their quiet comfort and created the Curumim Institute, 12 years ago. Since then, a unique aim motivated this group : create bearable life conditions for Lélivéldia.

They have no official help. Some private institutes give them contributions; but most of all, they organise some events in aid of Léliveldia and they even give part of their salaries.

From the time Léliveldia inhabitants are established among society and realise their human function within that world, the problem will certainly be submitted to higher instances. As persons, we sometimes feel powerless to fight against the reasons of this dreadful situation : to be born without any hope in future

Despite every efforts made by its active members, Curumim Institute doesn’t have enough resources in order to bypass, no even to satisfy primary needs and this aid concerns only a small part of the population.

It’s now urgent to provide Léliveldia inhabitants with food and hygien conditions. Then, it will be necessary to help them finding means to live with dignity thanks to their own work and efforts. Here is the situation for you, visitor, and the main aim of Jequitinhonha site is : to revive the glimmer of life and hope.
